Anthony Runfola
ANTHONY RUNFOLA is a co-founder of Upstairs Entertainment and served as artistic director of Upstairs Theatre Company (UTC) from 1994-1998. For UTC his directing credits include Kurt Vonnegut’s Breakfast of Champions (UTC’s debut), Talk Radio, When You Comin’ Back, Red Ryder?, Angel City, Italian American Reconciliation, and Closer.

Mr. Runfola’s work as a director ranges from the very adult to the very childish. Recent credits include Interrupting Vanessa (world premiere), The Beauty Machine and New Kid (Childsplay, Inc.); Poona the Fuckdog…and Other Plays For Children (Stray Cat Theatre); Macbeth: Remixed (Actor’s Renaissance Theatre); Fraternity, Dinah Was (Black Theatre Troupe); and Waiting for Godot (Ensemble Theatre.) He also dabbles in sound and projection design for the stage and recently created projections for productions of Beguiled Again: The Songs of Rodgers and Hart and Go, Dog. Go!

Mr. Runfola is an alumnus of Arizona State University and the Lincoln Center Theater Director’s Lab. He resides in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Jannine and their amazing, beautiful daughter Nina.
